Even though the wiring was all jacked up, the sound is the most important thing, and this guitar nails it! The lighning bolt paint job is just over-the-top cool. The Floyd Rose does its job well, and it's a barrel of monkeys to play this thing once you get the bugs worked out of it.

Since it doesn't cost much in the first place, and it's not expensive at all to have your local guitar shop do some soldering work on it, I'm not going to knock it too bad for that. It plays well, its comforable, and most importantly, it looks wicked-sweet and sounds even better. The pickup swap is not necessary to get the Dimebag sound, as the stockers are fine, but I went ahead and did it to satisfy my inner rockstar and it is AWESOME!

This Dean guitar is only getting 8 out of 10 stars because it does have that unmistakable 'Dime sound' which I believe is a result of the real lightning bolt that was captured using devil magic and sealed into the guitar's insulated clear coat. It also has a Floyd Rose system, and it seems to be a real one, as mine holds its tune well no matter how much I go crazy with the harmonic sqeels and what not. But the downside is the wiring. The quality is unbelievably poor. If you buy one of these, be prepared to re-solder the connections between the wires and, well, everything inside. The input jack, the pots, and the pickups may all need their soldering attachments re-done. Mine would cut out while playing, which turned out to be the input jack had an intermittent short.

The volume and tone pots also only seem to work at 50% and above, but cut out when turned down below 50%. I didn't really care too much since the guitar was so inexpensive anyway, and I expected these issues from reading reviews before I bought it. I did experience the same problem that I had read about, though, so it's not just a fluke that one guy experienced. Dean, fire your quality assurance manager!!!!!! 5 out of 10 because I feel like I bought a fixer-upper.

I knew it would need work, and after the work was done, it turned out to be a great guitar! The sound is fantastic! I am a HUGE Pantera fan and I bought the Randall full stack and Digitech effects and everything and reloaded this guitar with the SH-13 Dimebucker and a Pearly Gates in the neck slot, and I can't stop playing it!

All my friends think I'm 10 times cooler now, too! I also can grow a 6' long red beard in just one weekend now, too. I even watched a youtube video of this guitar. The sound, the tone, and raunchy KsE squeals all in a package well worth affording! I will get this guitar sometime soon and write another good review on this guitar.

The floyd rose tremolo/bridge is a plus. I will also invest in string saver saddles for floyd's. I will recommend this guitar to anybody who plays metal, involving KsE squeals! Overall it plays real well and stays in tune. If you plan on drop tuning it Make sure you get some heavier gauge strings though, because, the DMT designed pickups don't work well with the standard Dean strings while dropped.Overall I would say if you want a decent guitar at a pocket friendly price go for it.

Comments about Dean Dimebag Black Bolt Floyd ML Electric Guitar: i got this guitar for chrismas it has a very deep tone whick i was looking for great screams on this guitar the only three problems i have with it is that the factory didnt do such a good job on the paint and the when you bend the string it dosnt carry the string bend out for very long and last it weighs to much but yet again its a dimebag and dimebag darell was a big guy so thats understandable i say buy it but id rather get an ibenze. The paint was chipped all along the bottom and just looks liked they touched it up.

The top lock on the neck pops VERY loud when the bar is dumped, and the back set of humbuckers hit the string when you pull the strings tight. So i've adjusted the pickup but haven't had any luck on fixing the neck lock and i'm just screwed on the paint now. Next time i WILL buy from a guitar store and inspect instead of ordering straight from Dean.
